The rules do not specify if it should be 1 .xls file or if it can be 8 .xls files. Have any of you sent it as 8 separate files on one CD-ROM? It would be a lot easier for our team to work on the cost report if 8 people could be working on it at one time without overlapping.

You can work on separate .xls and simply copy paste (move or copy command) sheets into one .xls! That would be the best compromise.

in the end you should sent 1 .xls file to the event.
in my first year i did 8 files. for each sections one. but the judges were not so pleased with it. they said it was to complicate to read the cost report.
so i did my next ones in one file and they never complained again.
