There is a high possibly your water pump will fail. Why not just hack together a quick radiator setup..?

Its hard on the pump to not run any coolant. I would run a closed loop of hose with coolant at a minimum. It shouldn't warm up, let alone over heat in 30 seconds, none the less keep an eye on the temp.

The mechanical water pump is a shaft that spins an impeller. As far as I can see, there is no problem with running dry (we do this on the dyno). Not even any need for closed loop hose.

We have also figured out that the CBR600RR pump is not self priming, at all.
