We have team members flying in and out at different times. I am looking for a shuttle that goes from the airport (DTW) the Silverdome (or near). Does anyone have any suggestions?

Our team is having the same dilemma.. perhaps try contacting your hotel. I know the hotel we're staying at doesn't have a shuttle for us. (Holiday Inn Select @ 1500 Opdyke Road) Most options we have considered have not turned up anything productive. Taxi and City Bus, are too expensive and too long, respectively.

Let me know if you find any promising leads; I will let you know if we find anything as well.

James,

Our team is flying in as well and looking for a way to get to the motel (the shuttle wants over $240 each way for our 15 members.)

What time are you flying in? Maybe we can work together on something.

Sam,
I have people flying in

Wednesday at about 6:00am
Wednesday early afternoon??
Wednesday at 11:45pm
And at least one other time I don't know about yet.

What time are you guys getting in?

Holy crap! Does nobody on your team like each other enough to fly together? http://fsae.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Our whole team gets in at 5:30 on Tuesday.

I think can take care of the Tue. at 6:30 and Wed. afternoon. I will be busy Wed. at 6:00 am and 11:45 pm but I am pretty sure you could borrow my pickup for those times if there aren't too many coming in.

Why don't you get in touch with me on Tuesday at the Fairfield Inn and I am sure we can arrange something.

Of course with fuel prices the way they are, none of this is free. I charge one beer per ten shuttles. http://fsae.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Fuel prices these days, huh? Are you guys all the way up to $1.60 in Idaho yet?! http://fsae.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Here in Berkeley we're at about $2.25 for 87 octane swill.

I wish it was $1.60! We are at about $2.10/gal which is not quite as bad as Berkeley, but it is hard to be as bad as Berkeley. http://fsae.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Still have not paid $2 a gallon yet, but I paid $1.99.9 today. Scary close. That is 93 octane though. http://fsae.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_razz.gif

$2 per gallon. Down in Oz here we are paying a dollar a litre, which equates to about $4/gallon. I hate my 5.7 litre V8! (Correction, if i had a 5.7 litre V8 i would hate it, but i have a 800cc mighty boy - i love it!).

Speaking of fuel prices, I spent $61.80 to fill my pickup up the other day. http://fsae.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_mad.gif

It is going to be an expensive trip to Detroit!

I have 2 guys coming in on Wednesday afternoon or evening and 1 guy coming in on Thursday. Also, I have one leaving on Saturday in the late afternoon. I'm from Ann Arbor and to the best of my knowledge there arn't any shuttles from DTW to the Silverdome area. Its about a 45 minute to 1 hour trip depending on traffic and construction. With no traffic and no construction it may be only about a half hour. Anyway, we will have a 15 passenger van with us and could possibily help out if needed.
