Hi guys,

Bit of a long shot and a big favour here, but does anyone have any kind of base map for the R6 for either a MoTec or DTA ECU? We run a DTA P8 Pro, but I can read MoTec maps too as their ECU software is free off the web :P

Basically we're having big problems getting our engine started and it's hard to tell whether it's a hardwiring problem or a software problem as no one in our team over the past few years has managed to set up the engine properly.

Failing a map, if anyone could offer any help verbally that'd be great. The basic issues are that it very rarely starts. When it does it runs pretty terribly too and missfires/runs on two cylinders. Even the best map that was done for our 2004 car was a complete ball ache to start and we've never had a map that will get the engine going within a few seconds.

Absolutely any help at all would be appreciated. With regards a Map, even just the start map and first 1000rpm would be enough. We're also not going to the States this year so any of you US teams need not worry about competition :P

So if you can help, please either reply here, PM me or email us: ubracing@gmail.com

Thanks

Mike

Well there a few thing that may be the problem.

First here are a few questions:

How is the ignition set up...for example.

"36-1 trigger wheel with cam sync sensor and each coil driven individually" or"12-1 trigger wheel with wasted spark" these are just examples?

Most problem originate from this question. If there is a problem with the VR sense, and sync then the ecu is not going to be able make and fuel or ignition calculations. The r6 typically comes with a 4 tooth trigger and a cam sync, Some ecus have difficulty syncing with this setup at low rpms due to the drastic varying of rpm during cranking. So the question im really trying to ask is... do the RPM numbers of the ECU seem realistic. Our cranking rpm varys from 500-750 rpm. Second, are the cois actually sparking? You could actually smell the exhaust after a bit of cranking. does it smell like raw fuel, ignited fuel, or you can't tell(no fuel at all)

Hopefully this will give us a bigger picture of what is actually going on.

Good Luck
