It was discussed briefly in another thread that it's unlikely that we will be running the Patriot Course at VIR without cones. If the map on VIR's site is to scale, there would be a 1/4-mile straight. I was just wondering if SAE had announced anything regarding this, because I haven't been able to find anything definitive. Anyone have any information on this?

Thanks.

The FSAE rules for track layout wwill be followed. So there will be cones, just as there have been at Cal Speedway (FSAE West), Bruntingthorpe and Silverstone (Formula Student), and Werribee (FSAE-Australia).

Thanks. This is our first year entering any of the competitions. Sorry for being a noob.

The rules specify the maximum length of any straight-away (~150-200ft if I remember correctly) and various turn radii. There are a few threads about previous competition courses if you are looking for a map or previous layout.
