Our team is going to purchase the CP4226 calliper from APRacing and the GP-320 one from Willwood for this year's competition but we ran into a bit of a problem while selecting the brake hose fittings, namely: are the calliper threads male or female? The thread are specified on Willwood's and APRacing's websites as M10X1.0 for the CP4226 and the 1/8-27 NPT for the GP320 and the two 3/8-24 master cylinder threads with no mention of them being either males or females.
So I wanted to ask anyone who has any experience with these callipers about type the threads were. Also the hoses that we found online are mostly crimped with male threads. Could that present a problem or can we just purchase female to female adaptors where needed?

Thank you for your time.

From my experience, and I have not used either of the calipers mentioned, the calipers have female threads in them BUT they generally come with an adapter installed which gives you male threads.

On the AP racing calipers we used last year I ended up removing the stock adapters and replaced them with another type of fitting to adapt to the AN fittings I wanted to use.

Hope that helps.

Thanks for the help Dash. We'll order the male fittings then.

I have the AP callipers you mentioned. They have threaded female holes.

We use the AP CP4226 calipers with an M10x1.0 to AN-3 male-male adapter. The holes in the caliper are not very deep, we have to shorten the adapters and seal on the surface of the caliper with a crush washer.
