Now we have our racecar on the track.

We even had the local television to make a story. Perhaps it doesn't make that much sense for you guys, but there was some nice footage.

This year we are lighter than ever before.

Some short data:
Weight: below 180kg fully fueled
Yamaha R6 without turbo, 90bhp after the transmission.

Some electronics:
In house developed Engine Management System
Electric gearshift and clutchcontrol
Wireless lan for tuning and realtime data acqusition.
Low weight Li-polymer battery.

Chassis:
Carbon fiber monocoque.
Carbon fiber subframe.
All tubes in the suspension in carbon.

Titanium drivetrain.

Dear Johan,
Nice looking car and we look forward to seeing it at Bruntingthorpe in July.

However, just from the 3 photos you posted, we have spotted a couple of things that need to be rectified before you will be allowed through Tech Inspection. We suggest you do them at home before you ship the car, rather than wait until you get to the UK.

The two items we can see already are:
1. The head restraint is too low. It needs to be raised up so that the centre of the driver's helmet is approximately in the centre of the head restraint.
2. The shoulder belts appear to be at too steep an angle. Per Rule 3.4.1.F they must be at no more than 20 degrees below the horizontal from the driver's shoulders to the mounting point. Please look at Figure 6 of the 2006 Rules. You will probably have to raise the bar to which the shoulder belts are mounted.

While we are talking of belts (driver's restraint harness), please note that the mounting and angle requirements for both the lap and shoulder belts have changed for 2006. Please double check that you meet these new requirements.

One last comment - we suggest that all teams make a copy of the 2006 Technical Inspection Form and do their own check BEFORE they take or ship the car to a competition. The Tech Form can be found in the Technical Inspection section of "Rules and Important Documents" on the official Formula SAE web site at:
http://students.sae.org/competitions/formulaseries/rules/

See you in July.

Michael Royce,
Chairman,
FSAE Rules Committee.

Yes we noticed those thing after we took the pictures, the main problem is the driver not being seated as he should.
But we are however going to adjust the head restraint.
