If you can't see a load path from looking at something you will not be able to make a simulation program work!
Please think about it, look at the origins of the load and how it will act through the structure.

It's not so difficult.

Boy do I hate this kind of question!

In past years, we've used a method called TOOTHPICK.

Essentially, you build a complete, scale solid model in TOOTHPICK, and then apply loads in various directions to the .TPK file by the "finite-weight" method.

TOOTHPICK's outputs are both audible and visual. Failure is clearly indicated, as are the tubes which are most heavily loaded in tension and compression. The paths each load follows as it goes through the whole structure from the point of application to the constraint can be readily seen.

Best of all, TOOTHPICK is readily available and inexpensive.
