Formula SAE world will be rocked in 2013 when a new team hits the tarmac: Automotive Blitzkrieg. The new team was founded on an ongoing international collaboration between three well-known teams of Metropolia Motorsport (Helsinki, Finland), Zips Racing (Akron, Ohio, USA) and HAWKS Racing (Hamburg, Germany).

After long and thorough meetings and discussions the teams have found a consensus of the future. Teams will be attending competitions in USA (combustion) and Europe (electric + combustion).

The new car will be designed from the strong components of each team’s designs thus mixing best of these three worlds. Same platform is used for both combustion and electric cars and a total of 3 cars will be build by the respective teams.

Amongst other unique features the car will have a fully active suspension, 10” wide Goodride tires on 8” wheels and a Moto3 derived 250cc engine pushing out 50kW. Alternatively the electric car will be equipped with two 30kW engines and torque vectoring.

Automotive Blitzkrieg is also green! A new unique natural fiber monocoque will be created for the car. Considering the green move Automotive Blitzkrieg is going to be green enterprise including all the necessities which come along this decision. Therefore stop pollution and start thinking environmental friendly!

I understand there is a major delay in the production ot your new earth shattering cars.
During the 'long and thorough meetings', the team smoked the 'unique natural fibre' that was to be used to make the chassis and the cops have raided the hydroponic facility so you can't grow any more.
What a quick and sad end for this amazing project that lasted only one day (It's nearly midnight here in Sydney) http://fsae.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif
