Our typical supplier is not manufacturing the Ti piping anymore so they do not have the pipe diameter size we need.

I would like to know what companies you are purchasing your Titanium exhaust piping from? Have you been able to get the Ti piping donated? How much are you paying for your Ti piping?

We need 1.5 O.D. and 1.75 O.D. Any leads would be apprecaited.

Stainless. You know you want to.

The extra thousand (? wild guess) dollars or however much of value.. is giving you how much more performance?

do you mean 1.5 mm and 1.75 mm wall thickness with o.d.?
To bend Ti tubes you would need grade 1 or at least grade 2 tubes (very expensive) and even than its terrible. Not to mention the welding... Did you try that before?
You would save you a lot trouble and weight just to use 1mm steel tubes.
The ony source we found is Ti sheet metal. Than you have to weld tubes before and than bend it http://fsae.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif.

if you found some Ti tube you could make a lobster pipe exhaust... very time consuming though

I'd imagine from his verbage in his orignal post that these guys have done this before and are looking for an alternative supplier. I'd be interested to know about Ti tubing suppliers as well if anyone has info.

Well i guess that you don't take ready made bends?? I think you can find them in the dimensions you want them.

Try a google search for "titanium tube fittings" or "titanium butt weld elbows"

You can get pre bent tube sections that can be welded together to form your exhaust

Mild and stainless steels are also available

Thanks for all your help.
Yes our team has several years of Titanium exhaust experience.
We buy the piping and then send it out to a mandrel bender, then tack weld and tape it together then, have a professional welder to the work.

Yes it is expensive. But, if you are aggressive you can find some very competitive pricing. I have been quote as low at $7/ft for grade 2 Ti
But i have also been quote as high as $21/ft for the same O.D. size.

Too bad our past sponsor has not been able to provide us with the sizing we need for the past two years. Looks like we will be cutting a check for out exhaust.

Has anyone used inconel for their exhaust system yet?

We looked at using inconel last year, it was something like $2500-$3000 for our manifold.

oue engine builder recently found 304 stainless elbows could be sourced cheaper than mild steel... so now our mani wont go all scabby after a hard day on the dyno, it might get some nice colouring infact!

It will look great at first until you run the engine for a while. You can clean the crap off and repolish stainless though.
