Is there any benefit to adding a single velocity stack to our intake system? I was thinking if we could add something before our air filter, maybe drawing more velocity into our system, or anywhere in the system really. I was thinking of having something like some people do with their muscle cars (like at www.velocity-of-sound.com (http://www.velocity-of-sound.com)) Would we gain much airflow from it?

Since the restriction in the system comes after the throttle, your best bet is to make the restrictor as a venturi (i.e. velocity stack). This way you are more focused on the air getting past the restrictor as opposed to to it.

I wouldn't dismiss losses upstream of the restrictor. Flow through a fixed orfice is directly related to the pressure ratio across it and the choke point is determined by upstream pressure and the mdot related to upstream density...all important for gettting the most air through the restrictor.
