everyone knows that racing stripes and flames can both give your car a lower coefficient of drag. but which will make your car go faster? a nice racing stripe? or do flames painted on the sides make it go faster?

Make sure you use an axe to make them though, small holes are no good.

Nose art, like on the late 90s AAR Eagles (CART).

Someone needs to put a crocodile scheme on one of the 2012 F1 cars....

We did zebra stripe in the school colors and were by far the fast accelerating, nearly a full second faster than the next closest.....a couple DB too loud to count though http://fsae.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

We had flames last year, mostly because the nonuniform shapes hid the horrible bodywork surface finish as well as made the car faster.

The flames out the exhaust however just insured an unsatisfactorily low economy score.

Trav,

love the paint scheme! But flames are always a good thing right? http://fsae.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Saying you need to paint a crocodile scheme on the Caterham is like saying you need to paint a crocodile on a crocodile. Skinny in the front, fat in the middle, and skinny in the back. Crocodiles even have sidepods.

Lightning bolts make electric cars go fastest and flowing stripes are what make combustion cars go.
