tachometers

I am trying to use a older stock Kawasaki tachometer but I do not know how to wire it. The Haltech puts out a signal for tachometer input, but I cant get that to work. I checked the Haltech signal and I see a nice square wave. What kind of signal does the tachometer want? Why won't it work? Any suggestions? What are you doing for a tachometer?

Most tachs accept a 12v rectangle wave as an input (70%-30%). The one thing that you may need to check is the amplitude of the signal while connected to the tach. The tach may be pulling the signal down when you connect to it.
