HI,
This is mike. Our team is using PE ECU 1 for our HONDA 600cc RR engine. We have a problem with the ignition system.

Actually we have checked the individual spark plugs by giving signal from software "ECU Monitor"and it works fine.

But when we crank the engine it wont work.
The injectors are working fine.
I am unable to find the problem behind this.
Please reply us fast.

Thank you

I am assuming you mean when you use the test trigger button in the ecu monitor software they fire? This should just send a signal to the coil/ignitor. At least this verifies that your wiring it ok.

Are you getting a signal from your crank position sensor and is it the correct trigger wheel? If it never sees the missing tooth than it will never tell the ignition system to trigger. Make sure you have your ignition type and other settings correct as well.

Kinda basic for now with the information given. Assumption would be the ECU is not giving an ignition signal when cranking. Check with an O-scope if you can to verify.

We had what could be a similiar issue last year. Long story short, our coil labels did not match the firing order so we were sparking out of sync with the firing order of the engine. Coil 1 would spark then 2 then 3 then 4 just like we had it set up, but we were only able to make some weak backfires. Make sure that your coil sparking order is matching up with your cylinder firing order. I think on the RR it's 1-4-2-3, but I'm a little hazy on that detail. Once we switched the coils around we tuned the fire back into the cylinder.

Are you from IIT? If so I am working with one of your team members via email.

I measured the resistance of the crank position sensor it was fine but it was not able to detect he gap on the trigger wheel.I actually removed one teeth from the original trigger wheel of honda cbr 600rr 2008.Is it necessary that we need to remove a teeth perfectly 15 degrees before top dead center?

Hi Mike,

I have emailed with your team mate and it sounds like everything is cleared up. Good luck with the tuning.

When i checked the trigger wheel teeth in engine it was aligned in the above fashion for cylinder No.1 at TDC.

I have removed the the teeth No.2.But software is showing crank error continuously. The engine is not startihg.

Any solution to this problem.
Also can anyone suggest me what should be the initial advance based on rpm(in degrees).
