Hello all,
I am a representative of Cypher Group, a new effort to field a United States based F1 team for the 2011 season.
Part of our business plan is to work with US universities and colleges to train and build the talent pool in the United States to produce the first US designed and built F1 car since 1967.
Right now we cant disclose a lot about the effort but we have a lot of the pieces in place including a significant partner that I am sure you will all love.
All we can ask for right now is your support, the support from you guys will help to strengthen the effort and when we secure the entry we look forward to talking and working with you guys.

Isn't this the same line that Windsor and Anderson gave regarding USF1 to begin with?
And we know how that went...
Also... a better website would go a long way in your guys image... and I think given the complete failure of USF1 there's some serious image and presentation needed.

I do agree with exFSAE, however i do not think that we should immediately attack Cypher Group. As information becomes avalible I think it would be wise of you to put it out there. As a first year team I cannot imagine that secrecy is all that big of a deal.
After the USF1 failure I cannot imagine you have a very easy job, hopefully it goes much better, I wish you luck!

I wish you guys luck as well. I'm sure if theres anything you need tested or made there will be some students willing to help for a minor fee or trip to a race or something.
I know I would at least

You guys definitely have an uphill battle to try and be ready for a 2011 entry. Not just getting a team together and a vehicle developed, but also to win the PR battle. Like the previous posts have already stated the USF1 debacle isn't doing you any favors as far as the perception of your team. Having a profesional looking website that functions well and is updated regularly will go a long way in changing that perception. I would also suggets re-thinking your merchandise and/or logo design. One of the t-shirts looked like my senior class t-shirt from high school. Not trying to jump all over you guys, but this is all I know about you thus far. We can give you guys some more support/positive feedback when we know more about you guys. I really hope you guys can pull it off, if not in 2011 then in 2012(When I graduate from grad school http://fsae.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif).

i think iam getting another headache/hangover. i say hangover because i think it was about this same time last year that i heard about another group of very hard working people that were going to take the f1 fans of the US to the promised land. i was so high on that news that i checked that website everyday. i looked for new updates , any news at all that would keep my high going. well anyone who is reading this knows how i felt when they pulled the plug. god damn traders. so here we go again, this time with cypher group f1.now they say that they have very good contacts with a well established team in f1,{i personaly hope its ferarri} i also hope they have a aircraft carrier full of money. but this time around i refuse to let my feelings get in the way, i will check on the progress of this team over the next 9 months and hope to see them testing in march 2011. now pass me that pipe, i need another hit..
