Hey everyone.

I am designing the cooling system on Queen's Universit's car this year and am wondering if any teams use a radiator from the polaris sportsman 700 or 800 (same rad on both) and if so, im wondering if you could give me some dimensions. If possible i would like to know the fin density and fin thickness. I have called around an no one carries them in stock, so i cant go an measure these myself.

Thanks.

Stefan,

We've used a Polaris radiator and have a couple lying around. They may be for the Sportsman 600 as that is what we ran last year, but I'd say that at least the construction would be the same.

Fin thickness: .005"
Fin density: 7folds/in" so 14/in"
Fin width:.375"
Fin length: 1.25"

27 rows of fins on ~1/2"

total fin area: 12.5" X 14"

If this isn't clear, let me know.

Hey vw_vince, thank you for this information. I am wondering if you also have the dimensions of the water flow passages or if anyone else has this information, that would be excellent.

Thanks.

Input and output are on the same side, .75" OD. ID is around .625". The overflow vent is 1/4" OD.

I was actually wondering about the water flow passages through the radiator. I dont think you will be able to measure these, i am just wondering if you know the dimensions. Thanks.
