As it says post pics of your ride, daily driver or project car. Here's my drag project 84 Camaro. Been taking forever to finish, but should be sweet when it's done

My daily driver/weekend project. Pretty much a base '98 V6 5-speed car, nothing too special. Intake, custom exhaust, and a Hurst short throw are the only mods so far... gets the job done.

My daily driver in High School, now it sits alone while I'm at school:
It's mostly finished. I've got a 5-speed and EFI swap in the future plans though. I've hit the 8th mile with it a few times, and it's a lot of fun.

Here's my car/restoration project...it's a 1987 Porsche 924S that I picked up almost 2 years ago when it had one foot in the scrap bin and I've been bringing it back since...new suspension, exhaust, interior, brakes, and this winter I'll be hopefully finishing the bodywork

I really like that Buick. I may have to try to find one myself to build once I'm out of here.
This little guy's waiting for me to come home and put together the fuel injection system. I've got alot more projects planned for it though.
Started out looking like:

Right now it looks like this but the rear is a little lower since the engine and tranny are back in

I'm another Pcar owner.
Nice teener Derek. I've seen that car before, are you a 914world/club member?
Here's my baby. She's undergone a 5 year ground up restoration, and I did everything besides machine the flywheel. I rebuilt the engine, made seemly endless amounts of patch panels, did the bodywork and painted. Next weekend the bumper goes on (thats the last piece, finally).
Hopefully I'll be picking up another 914 this weekend. The next one will be a racecar http://fsae.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I used to post alot on the Pelican Parts and 914club forums alot. The car's just been sitting in my parents garage since I came over to school, so it hasn't made much progress in awhile and I haven't really paid attention to those boards. BUT I'm done in May and as long as I can find a place with a garage it should be back on the road within a month or two after that.

Its in a holding pattern. I have the built long block downstairs in the garage, unfortunately the car is 3k miles away! Things are looking up though. I got the 944 operable, so I can sell the 325. Then I'll get the M3 headgasket repaired and maybe sell the 944. THEN I'll ship the 951 carcass across the country. I'm shooting to have the other 3 in the stable fully sorted by the end of this year and target early '08 to get to work.

well, let`s see my ride. Shiny add-ons are the turbo air scoop with two fuel injection carburetors, the tach on the hood (i want that every dude that i`m chasing can see my revs).. also i did put lambo doors and those beautiful 1000 Cd wings, and those PVC spinners to clean flow paths around the beautiful tangerine paint
Also i like the roll sensitive headlamps (both open at 180 degree of roll)
enjoy...

Yes I did actually. I had only owned the car for about 2 weeks at that point. The drive out was a good shake down to get used to it http://fsae.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Thanks guys,
That turbo in the picture was a Garrett T04e, with a .68a/r turbine housing, and a .50a/r compressor. My new turbo is a Holset H1C, from a Cummins Diesel (compressor has a 55mm inducer, and 83mm exducer, it's not toooo big). That dyno graph was with 16psi.
Here's the new turbo on the left.

It's been duely tweeked but since i've got almost zero income after quitting my old job (Ex maintainence tech) mostly been just keeping it on the road.
However... doesn't mean i could upgrade http://fsae.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif
Spec's below:
BMW 320i
> Full Bilstein suspension and springs from 325i sport
> Powerflex polyuethene bushes in Subframe, diff mount and eccentric M3 front arm bushes.
> E46 Rear top mounts.
> 3.91:1 Limited slip differential
> Trip computer from SE spec 325i
> TSW Imola 16in wheels (came with car) / 14in BMW 'Bottletop' alloys for drift days http://fsae.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif
> Sparco Evo 2 Bucket Seat
> TRS 6 point harness (only 4 point installed, no crotch strap mounting points)
> BMW Leather Sports interior (Already in car)
> New wheel bearings from SKF (To be installed)
> Braided Brake Lines (To be installed)
> New BMW OEM RTA bushes (To be installed)
> E36 Rack conversion (To be installed)
On the cards for reworking
> New Exhaust System
> Anti roll bars from 325i Sport / Touring
> M20B25 engine + gearbox , either chipped.. or turbo'ed... http://fsae.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif
> New sunroof panel and a respray...
But more funds will probably be invested in the 'Track project' IF i can ever find some space where i can work on it reguarlly http://fsae.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y128/Silverfangwolfy/Car%20stuff/68IE0080.jpg

In addition, the nice flower sticker on the rear window instead of a wiper added 10hp, according to my dyno...

I thought I'd revive this topic to put something on the forums main page.

Not technically my ride, although I did ride in it...

In case you can't tell, one of those cars has a racing wing (from our 2006 car) attached to it. The structural adhesives used were quite high tech.

The end result...

Hmm, whats the estimated speed when this car will get airborne and does a backflip?
Wesley

Slightly less than the speed at which the high-strength duct tape attaching it fails.
It was designed that way. http://fsae.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

I ironically came upon this post from a google image search for "240Z" and figured I should bring it back to life. I have frequented the forums for the past 4 years now and figured it was a good time to join and contribute a little more. So here is my worthless contribution of bringing a fun thread back to life again.
This is my 1994 300zx Twin Turbo, fully built engine, upgraded turbos (gt28rs), and all the supporting mods but I won't get into the details. I haven't dyno tuned it yet, I just finished the 2 year build and break in about a month ago, but it should do ~620+ rwhp on 100 octane and 24psi.

And my campus commuter/speed fix while I was building the Z is my 2000 CBR F4. I love this thing.

Ok, here's mine... I was originally planning on restoring an 87 924S, but a few things got in the way. After an Impreza and an Integra, I finally went back to my VAG roots.
mk3 Jetta Turbo Diesel (Montreal - Detroit on a tank)
http://i297.photobucket.com/albums/mm217/andykanins/Jetta/IMG_1680001.jpg
Now replaced by mk3 Jetta GT 2.slow with:
- mk4 rear caliper upgrade
- stainless braided lines
- lots of lighting

Just wondering if any other teams have a reputation for having their personal cars STOLEN...
3 of our team members (including me) had our cars stolen within 1.5 years. I luckily got my 280z back, but it needs some love. The other two guys not so fortunate...
Somehow, when you build a car from scratch, your attachment to other forms of transport don't mean as much...

Yamaha FZR, inherited from a brother-in-law after it was left sitting for 6 years. It had to wait to be fixed while the 2009 car was being assembled/tested - but it's been a joy since!
And I just might have the best commute in the world, 10 mins of country roads, water views and no traffic! http://fsae.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
And Pennyman, I feel for you...I've only had my old car broken into (a P-car that I had been building up over 4 years). They only defaced the door, but then had the audacity of smoking in the car and leaving a cigarette butt near the shifter!
I understand a little about that connection between car and driver - have fun rebuilding your sweet Z!

Mine is a Ford Probe. Not the sexiest thing Ford could have done with the name, but if Jeremy Clarkson thought it could snap knicker elastic from ten yards away (in 1993, no less), it's good enough for me.
Not a daily driver. 1-gallon fuel cell not conducive to commuting. The lady is a friend.

http://i73.photobucket.com/albums/i201/FrankenProbe/DSCF7189.jpg
This is the daily driver for now - 1990 Mazda 323, with a 2.5L V6 engine, right-hand drive swap because I haven't outgrown the 90s, and decent suspension on it. It's an 'acceptable' on the fun scale.

First up, 84 300zx 2+2 Slicktop, 5 speed, VG30ET. Got it when I was 15 for $900. Started it's life as n/a, eventually converted it to turbo. Learned how to do body work... Rust repair.
Current state is primer, and sitting in my parents garage until I get monies for paint. http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t186/sprtcrazy17/100_3230.jpg
Second is another 84 300zx, 50th anniversary edition, bought this one for $900 during my first semester at school. Couldn't stand driving my slow tercel.
PO blew the engine, 14psi with no intercooler = http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t186/sprtcrazy17/2010-01-26124123.jpg
Replaced with 9:1 CR motor from a maxima, 7:8:1 stock.
Other crap: Custom S13 Coilovers 10/12k,(can go mad jdm low) later model front end swap w/ SS lip, 350z seats, open dump exhaust, MBC

Last but not least is the Tractor. Another $900 vehicle. 86 F-150, 4 on the floor, straight 6. Beast. Texas edition
Bought it to haul parts and tools around campus. And apparently it wanted me to learn how to fix carburators.. -_-
