Hey, question for all of you guys, nothing directly related to anything, just more of a general question which I can't seem to find an answer to on the internet... alright, for cylinder wall types, they have non-siamesed and siamesed, can someone confirm that the siamesed cylinders are cylinders where their water jackets do not completely surround each cylinder individually and that the cylinder walls are solid between the adjacent cylinders and thus no coolant can pass between them. thanks, I think that's what siamesed means, but again, maybe it's too much x-mas food making my brain slow and i'm not thinking properly, meh, anyways, happy holidays

Mitch,

You are correct. Siamesed engine blocks have no coolant passages between the cylinders; this is usually done in custom race blocks which have huge bores to ensure cylinder integrity. I can't remember for sure, but it seems that the Chevy 400 small block is a siamesed-bore block ('cause it has healthy bores). Don't quote me on that, and I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong. http://fsae.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
