3.5.3.8 High Pressure System Requirements
(A) Fuel Lines – High pressure over 103.4 kPa (15 psi) fuel
systems must utilize protected hose (metal braided or some other
abrasion resistant shielding) with either threaded fittings or
modern OEM type fittings used without modifications to either
the hose or the fitting. A hose clamp(s) over a removable line of
any type is not permitted on a high pressure fuel line(s).
Is it OK if we use the Speedflow low pressure hose?
-Construction: Elastomer rubber tube, textile braid reinforcement and synthetic rubber cover, in either Blue or Black.
-Temperature: -49? C to +150? C
-Application: Fuel, Oil and Water.

Have you ever tested this kind of hose?

As the rules lay out you can use those you would have to put a covering over it, if your system has over 15psi of pressure in the lines.

We use this type of hose with Speedflow pushlock fittings on our speedway midgets which run on methanol and we have never had a problem.
However we run mechanical injection and so it is only for low pressure use. The fuel pressure you are running will tell you whether it is ok to run low pressure hose.
Note that we don't run this hose on the pressure side of the oil system.

Am I correct that the max pressure is 250psi?
Is the textile braid reinforcement "hard" enough?

I personally wouldn't use that Daniele. The intent of the rules is that you use some sort of steel braiding to prevent any contact of the rubber to some sharp or hot item. That hose looks like the braiding is just embeded in the rubber, sort of like reinforcement in a tire. I don't think that this would prevent contact with a sharp or hot item and the rubber. I don't think that the judges would approve and you might end up having to change it last minute at the competition.

Thank you Brent.
I asked to SAE if it is possible, anyway I'll take in account your suggestions.
