I would like to thank the guys at RPI and Brian Lewis from PE-ltd for their help in getting out engine running. When the guys from RPI donated the engine to us there was a fist sized hole in the case over the timing chain cover. We fixed that, then smoked the coils. With Brians help got the engine running yesterday. I would seriously reccomend the PE-ltd ECU, if teams would get half of the quality of customer support that we have gotten from Brian it would still be a steal.

How are all of the first year teams doing as we're getting near the winter break.

Our engine runs, our tubing is scheduled to be delivered tuesday the 16th, and things are finally smoothing out.

Incidentally we just ran our engine yesterday too, with carbs though (the PE-LTD is going on this winter)

For now we're running straight pipe with a nasty little side-exhaust manifold that somehow makes the CBR600 sound much closer to a nitromethane-snorting big-block beast than to a civilized little sportbike. Definitely the most badass 4-banger I've ever heard http://fsae.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_eek.gif

Chassis- and suspension-wise the car is pretty much ready, we'll probably try some rolling tests next week (finals week, no less)

Brian rocks. Helped us out a ton last year and we didn't even use his ECU. We're running PE this year, hopefully the engine will be ready to go soon...
