Just a suggestion to fsae.com owner and fellow FSAE'rs. I think we should have this forum taken care by moderators. Becoz it seems like everybody is asking the same question over and over again, and each time they do, we have to start a new topic everytime.

Since we have regulars like Charlie and Michael Jones and etc. why dont we have moderators who can lead others to the topic that they might have question on instead of starting a new topic on the same question and waste website's memory.

I dont know ... just a thought, what do you guys think?

hmmmm, that needs spare time. maybe we should just start flaming people who dont use the search fuction before they post a new topic? http://fsae.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

if there was enough other moderators to help me out, i would be happy to go through new topics before they are posted. going through every post would be a bit extreme.

- if it isnt coming, you need a bigger tool.

Here, in FSAE, there are always new people. Seniors graduate, freshmen come in, or new teams join the competition. In that sense, you will always have people asking previously addressed questions, because they have not been on the forum before. Often the answers are the same, but sometimes they are not. We redesign our vehicles every year. Thus, what we are doing to address a problem, may not be the same year to year, or week to week(especially when you get into testing). New teams might have different approaches to a question posted before they came on the forum. In this context, I don't mind the same question being asked if something new comes of it. Just don't read it if you have already seen a similar thread. Could also post a link to the previous thread, as many have done.

I don't think topics or posts should be reviewed before they appear on the site. It slows things down and obstructs discussion since we have to wait for a mod to look at it. Not to mention time sensitive posts could become obsolete before they even appear. Instead, if someone has a problem with a thread or post, send a message to a mod and they can take a look it and delete or edit as necessary.
