What are you doing here. You should have your head in the books learning all you can about 302 Ford V8s, Hollinger transmissions, 9" final drives and the TOCA rulebook http://fsae.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Our Chassis weighed 51 lbs(23 kg) when it came off the Jig table.

Our projected weight after tabs and powder coating is around 54 lbs (24.5 kg).

I hope this helps.

These frame numbers are great, but what kind of rigidity numbers are with them? Just curious...

Kevin Hall

Well, the one we just punched out weighs 53 lbs, and has a rigidity of 1300 ft-lbs/deg. It is an all 1" tube frame.

Our next design incorporates some composites, and is running about 60 lbs, however the rigidity is upwards of 2100 ft-lbs/deg.

Charlie,

Was the rigidity tested with a fully assembled car or just the frame?
