Hi guys,
been reading a while, finally decided to make a post.
Currently thinking of running 'saturated' injectors on our EFi ecu for our 600cc engine, the Ecu runs high impedance injectors directly.
We can run 'peak and hold' with an additional injector driver though. Just thinking if its worth the extra weight and complexity of going for 'peak and hold' if the gains are worthwhile ?
What injector set-ups are you running?
Cheers

Is there a performance gain at all?

Hi Guys,
You will see no gains from using peak and hold injectors over saturated ones in your application. Peak and Hold inj are designed to have a higher frequency response than saturated injectors. This is acheived by dumping more cuurent into the injector initially to open it (the "peak", usually 4A) and then backing off the current using a different type of driver (the "hold", usually around 1A). The net result is an injector that can open up very quickly and still be large enough to flow alot of fuel. This is helpful when you are running an engine that requires very large injectors at WOT but you still need to handle small flow rates of fuel to get the thing to idle. A good example would be a small 4-cylinder running a ton of boost.
Keep it simple and just drive the saturated injectors directly.

Thanks for the information Brian. Have read that peak and hold are more precise for the fueling.
Seems like we are best sticking to the saturated injectors that our Ecu will run directly.

Simon
