It's around 55Kg without oil and water, but that was a fairly inaccurate spring balance on our lab's crane.
We have pieced together a fairly good CATIA V5R12 model using some IGES CMM data and a lot of work with a height gauge. I could probably do a STEP format of it when I get back on the 5th Jan.

Hi Ben
We'd be grateful if you could mail us the CAD drawing of the engine at fsae_dce@mail2race.com

Hi Ben,
We are a 1st year team from Queensland University of Technology and have recently acquired a late '03 R6 Engine. If you have any CAD drawings or other useful info it would be a huge help in getting our first car ready in time.
Cheers!

watch out if you have an 03R6.... the mounting locations have all been changed as compared to 02 and previous R6 engines. If you're going to use an 02 or prior drawing/model for a general engine shape then you should be ok.
just a heads up

Ours is 02.
I will really try and get the model posted somewhere next week. The combination of me getting a prolapsed disc and half the team attending the Autosport International means we are a bit busy on other things.

Prolapsed disk eh? Isn't that a polite name for shaggers back?

Hi Ben!
Maybe you might put that engine data here: http://avwrx.com/moto/cad/
It's a site which is meant to be an archive for all those people involved in playing with motorcycle engines, not exclusively for FSAE. I published my `98 GSX-R files there and Enrico Diano from Toronto FSAE
gave an CBR F4 for this site. This way you don't have to email it all the time and a lot of people can benefit from this work. Best thing to do is to publish the native R12 CatPart and IGES or preferably STEP.
And no, I won't put the Mahle engine there....;-)
Regards from Aachen,
Tim
