Just wondering if any one out there uses an elctromotive ECU and what are your impressions of it.

We used a TEC3.
Everything works pretty well.
I haven't been able to get the data aqcuisition working, the WinTEC software is pretty good.
However, the trigger wheel is a big problem! http://fsae.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_mad.gif Electromotive requires a 60 -2 tooth wheel. DO NOT USE THE 3/8" chisel point variable reluctance pickup sensor inside the engine. It is not meant for auto temps. After two sensor, ~7 hours running, inside the engine, I finally made a crank extension to run an external 3.5" wheel and a 1/2" sensor. This is definitely more robust and easier to adjust. But it took me about a week of after-work design, machining, shopping, to work out the oil seal, the indexing, and final installation of the crank extension and wheel.
The small 2.375" wheel, which replaces the old R6 wheel and has a similar diameter, is also very tricky to setup.....more like a pain in the arss. Anyway, just my 2 cents.

Big Daddy,

Depending on what engine you are running, we have a system that uses the stock bike pickup sensor and ignition coils. If you need any help feel free to contact me offline. FSAE teams recieve a 20% discount.
