OptimumG is looking for beta testers for our tire analysis and modeling software, OptimumT. Formula Student/FSAE teams are encouraged to apply to become beta testers. Applications from researchers in universities will also be accepted.
OptimumT is a steady-state tire force and moment analysis and modeling package. It is intended for use by professional motorsports teams and tire manufacturers. The software is comprised of two basic components: graphing and model fitting. The graphing component allows the user to create graphs in 2d or 3d. Over 40 different force/moment related quantities can be plotted. OptimumT also allows users to fit tire models to force and moment data collected through both rig testing and on-track wheel-force-transducer testing. The following tire models are supported:

Pacejka Magic Formula versions ’96, 2002 and 2006

Pacejka Magic Formula version 2002, with inflation pressure effects

Fiala Model

Brush Model
For more information about OptimumT, read here. (http://www.optimumg.com/OptimumT_FeatureList_v2.pdf)
The Deal
Based on submitted applications, FS/FSAE teams will be selected to become beta testers of OptimumT. As a beta tester, the team is expected to use OptimumT for the analysis or fitting of tire data to aid in the design of their car. Teams must provide significant feedback about the software. The selected teams will be given a 12 month license free of charge (a value of approximately $20,000 USD). Teams who participate in beta testing who wish to continue using OptimumT after this period will be given preferred pricing.
Application process
Teams wishing to be considered for becoming beta testers should send an email to engineering@optimumg.com with the information listed below. A professional approach to working with OptimumT is expected.

The name, email address and phone number of the student who will be leading the tire analysis.

Why OptimumG should choose your team.

How the tire analysis will benefit the overall design process for their 2010 or 2011 car

Which competition(s) the team is planning on attending in 2010

Which data that will be used in this analysis

Any previous tire analysis work that the team has performed.

A timeline for this analysis project. Students are expected to begin the project in September 2009.

Applicants also must attach proof of enrollment as a full-time student.

Plans to publish the work done as either an SAE paper or as an academic paper will be considered. Publication is not required, however.
Kind regards
