I found a site with a good knowledge base, alot of good reading.

Click on Knowledge Base and there are tons of articles by Beckman and Ortiz. I haven't read many yet but some look pretty good.

If anybody goes there, what do you think of the articles?

Thanks for this link Sam, some really good info on there. This guy Mark Ortiz really knows his stuff! Have you sent any questions to him yet? if so, how long does a reply usually take?

I would advise everyone to have a look at this site, like Sam I havent read many articles yet but the ones I have are pretty good and give amatuers like myself loads of good advice!

The articles are the same as those that are printed in the back of all the Racecar Engineering magazines under "The Consultant" column. Excellent articles, IMO. He does a great job of answering the questions (even more basic ones) and giving some case examples to explore them in depth. Pretty interesting stuff, even when it's not directly applicable to 500 lb formula cars.

The link to the auto-ware forum was put up on the old fsae listserv some time ago, but so far the board has been a bit slow.

Hey Pat, even if Mark Ortiz does join an FSAE team, we all know it takes a lot more than a good (or great) understanding of vehicle dynamics to win an FSAE comp http://fsae.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif Sure does help though!

I have a couple of posts on the board, but nothing directed at Mr. Ortiz. Most of my questions this year are more managerial questions, like how do you get 20 guys to design the perfect parts, put them together to form the perfect car, have the car weigh 400 lbs, minimize time in the machine shop, and do it all for under $100. http://fsae.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif I haven't found this answer to this question yet. http://fsae.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
