Where would a team go about finding specs on a set of Polaris sportsmen 400 CVs? Or any ATV CVs for that matter. The outer diameters and the spline data for the half shafts and wheel hub is what I am specfically after. Any tips are much appreciated.

In general, if you use OEM parts, rather than 'supplied' parts, you will get no design support and will have to reverse engineer _everything_. Often, even supplied parts are seriously lacking in design support, unless you are buying large quantities.
If you are lucky, you will find the supplier to the OEM will also supply direct, and may offer informal support. That is if you can identify the supplier to the OEM.
Look at it as a early introduction to the world of small scale (low-budget) engineering projects!
