Besides the obvious power advantage, I've thought about using a turbo to aid in the muffling of the exhaust note. Then we could use a freer-flowing muffler and not worry about the sound level.

for anyone who is using this garrett deal, i understand garret gives you the GTV15 and the GT12. they look to be pretty different turbos, i imagine it would be a bitch to use one as a backup. so what do you guys do with the second turbo you are given? send it back to garrett? or is your team leader now riding a turbocharged blackbird? http://fsae.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif
