Hi Guys/Gals,
I am writing a paper for work that is on PID systems, I was wondering if anyone could dirrect me to a good source of information as I have lost my university note on my control systems subjects (hey, I graduated a few years ago).

I need to write this paper for the "lay" person so this is where it can get difficult. Any information at all would be great, preferably in internet/email form.

My email is mark.mccoy@motec.com.au. Thanks.

Hi Mark,

I may be able to help. Controls was the focus of my graduate studies and I work with someone with a PhD in Controls. Between the two of us, we have quite a bit of info laying around. What kind of information are you looking for?

Hi Brian,
Basically I am trying to formulate an explanation/document focusing on Idle Control at the moment and in future one for boost control and a couple of other things. As you can understand Engineers think one way and most of our customers do not think that way, these are the people I need to consider. I will probably need to relate it to something everyone understands, I thought correcting oversteer would be a good one and use the basic human "feel" as an example of what the ECU is trying to mimic.

I have found some good information on the net so far but will probably email you some more specific questions later (after my Christmas Holiday http://fsae.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif) if that is ok.

I have not studied this in this much depth for a few years now (about 8 or 9 to be exact) so I will bring my self up to speed first. Thanks for the offer, I will take it up soon.
