Well I bought my Friday-Saturday pass, and booked a Friday night hotel room. I won't be there for the race, I can't afford the ticket + the extra night's stay. But what I really want to do is see the cars on the track, and hopefully a display car up close! And I'll definitely be able to do that.

Anyone that wants to crash Friday night, and maybe drink some beers http://fsae.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif let me know!!

hey charlie,
im going to the race, and i'll be arriving on the 27th and checkout on the 29th. By now, all of the rooms are fully booked.

since you're leaving on saturday, is there any way, i could have you extend your stay so i can fill in for those extended days?

So you have no rooms at all?

I will try to book Saturday and/or Sunday for you, but only if you can confirm that you'll be using those rooms, I don't wanna get stuck with 'em. Let me know!

Either way you are more than welcome Friday night to stay in our room.

hey charlie,
i wont be there until saturday, you'll probably be gone by then.

there are rooms left, but all of them cost about hundred something or 200 something. Since you booked it long before the raised up the price, im assuming if you extend your stay, you'd probably get the same rate as you wouldve had if you had booked 3 days instead of one.

let me know if my assumption is right. Right now, you would not find anything in indy for less than a hundred dollars a night. So im assuming you're paying about 50 bucks a night. So if you extend your stay, you will still be charge 50 a night instead of a newcomer who reserve the same room, but with a higher price. You get what im saying?

anyways, let me know ... thanks a lot!

I think they jack up the prices long before the time comes around. I am paying $89 a night for a low-budget Red Roof that is probably normally $59 (and a ways from the track).

Anyway, I called. They don't have any rooms open. I can try once I get there to see if they have any openings if you'd like, they do have rooms available for Sunday night. I'll try closer to the date, or I can ask to get on a waiting list, if you like.

Anyone else? If you are on I65 bewteen AL and Indy I will be more than happy to pick someone up for the trip, I'm sure tickets will be available for Fri Sat at the gate http://fsae.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif I am bringing a couple buddies from here, but its a big car.

Don't miss the only F1 race left in North America... (yeah I need to split up the expenses more http://fsae.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif )

hey charlie,
i think i'll just go ahead and crash in one of my friend's place. Thank you though. I shouldve done my plan everything out early. I checked out the price about 2-3 months ago, and it was 40 something a night for the race w/end.

hey have fun for the qualifying. And if im not mistaken, the pit walkabout is on thursday and they only allowed people with race ticket to enter the pit. So how are you gonna see all the cars if you're not going to the pit? And it is on thursday though.

hey maybe we can exchange pictures later huh? see ya!

Hey guys,
Have a blast at the US GP! I managed to make it to the Italian GP two weekends ago and it was absolutely amazing....there is nothing like seeing F1 live...the osund of the engines is enough to make you tingle!
About the pit lane entry...I'm not to sure what they are doing at Indy this year but at Monza you had to pay big money to get Pit / Paddock access (200 euros) for what amounted to 1.5 hours of time in those areas over the weekend. If they are letting people into the pits at Indy then I envy you guys!
They should have more than enough displays of cars in the Manufactures area, so have fun snapping pictures.
Anyways, everyone going have a great time...to all of you not going, you'll regret it!

If anyone wants to check out my pictures of Monza go to www.imagestation.com/members/kjgier (http://www.imagestation.com/members/kjgier)
and click on the photo album!

Cheers,
Kelsey
