Hi, I'm currently working on modelling our spaceframe chassis in abaqus. So far the results I have been getting give a very low torsional stiffness of around 100Nm/deg.
The model I'm using is made from beam bar2- pipe31h elements. My boundary conditions are that the rear suspension mounts are constrained in all dof. I'm then loading the chassis from the front suspension points.
I have also compared my results to some calculated in pro mechanica and the pro mechanica torsional stiffness is much higher approximately 10 times.
