We've had a lot of requests for technical information from Formula SAE teams...if you are interested, see the following offer.

Ohlins has a CD-ROM with a TT44 Valving Reference Program and Inside: The Ohlins TT44 Manual in .pdf format. This sells for $26.69 retail; we are now offering it to Formula SAE teams for 50% off, plus shipping.

The TT44 Manual details the operation of a Ohlins TT44 shock absorber, as well as a chapter on how damping functions relate to the optimization of a racecar.

The Valving reference program is like virtually playing with a TT44 on a shock dyno. It will give you damper curves for any combination of clicker settings, valves, needles, and shim stacks.

Agreed. I have the TT44 manual, and bought it to understand what is a very good and widely used damper. However it is totally inappropriate for FSAE cars and therefore not worth spending money on.

Given that Penske do a full tech manual free on the net; http://www.penskeshocks.com/Adjustable%20Tech%20Manual.pdf the ohlins offer doesn't look great.

Don't get me wrong, any support is appreciated but it needs to be done right and in recognition that the company can benefit from FSAE as much as the students benefiting from the products. MSC ADAMS, PE ECUs and Aurora bearings are good examples of this.

and (even though they aren't really a comparable product) when risse are giving (50% off rec. retail) discounts for FSAE (direct from factory),

it would be hard to compete without doing the same.
