Guys,

Can anyone tell me what the min and max cam and crank signal voltages are. Our engine isn't running et and I am unable to crnk it by hand. I need the data for for building a zero crossing detector.

Cheers,
Lawtsmo

Care to share any details on the engine type and management system?

Sorry Charlie, I was just so wrapped up that I forgot to put that in...

GSX-R 600 (2002), using the stock EMC.

Thanks

Lawtsmo,

If both of the sensors are 2-wire, use an LM-1815 for zero crossing detection. We use this IC as par of our circuit and it works well. If you find out that the max voltage exceeds the max for the IC you can add a couple of components (resistor, zener) to get the voltage under control. Remember to check the voltage levels at max RPM when you get the engine running.

I would be happy to help if you want to give me a call. Our phone is (513) 777-5233. Good luck.
