Would any of the more Western teams like to (try to)caravan to Michigan? Most of our team is driving out instead of flying this year.

Also, would anyone know of a cheap place to get a trailer (that weighs no more than 1250 pounds) or better yet a Uhaul type truck for a 5000 mile journey?

Do any of the west coast schools have extra room in their trailers for say...another formula car?

We have a Dodge Caravan and 5'x10' Covered Uhaul trailer in mind at the moment and we were looking for other options. We don't know if the van will like us after a few thousand miles.

We would be leaving from Irvine and could meet up with pretty much any school along the way if it turns out that people want to caravan. Pomona? Northridge? Beach?

A few of us had been discussing this at the CSUN event back in October. We would be down for caravanning. Which way are you guys planning to go? We pretty much jump on I-80 and take that cross-country. Travel will probably be a bit slower in order to keep the caravan together, but it could be ok. We'll have one 8-passenger van, towing the enclosed trailer, and probably one other vehicle for extra passengers. We drive 'round the clock and I think it took 46 hours last year (including a little, uh, "shortcut").

As for trailer space, if you can figure out how to get your car to Davis or Berkeley, and how to fit 3 formula cars in our trailer, we'll haul your car http://fsae.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif
