Is your team running the car's fuel pump inside the tank or outside? Has anyone mounted the pump anywhere besides on the bottom of the tank?

My suggestion is outside the tank if for no other reason than it's much easier to get at it if there is a problem. Keep in mind when mounting, fuel pumps don't pull much suction head. That almost eliminates any place except for below the lowest fuel level.

Does anyone have pics of their fuel systems with external pumps? I'm trying to see what fittings are needed and how your tanks are set up. http://fsae.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

EuroUri,
This year we ran a angled cylindrical tank that has has a small sup at its center. we routed the return line from the fuel rail/regulator directly above the sum to help prevent fuel starvation in hard corners. The pump, regulator and filter all mount on the tank via welded 3/8" aluminum bungs. The pump is about 1/2" above the bottom of the tank.

Robert,
Can you get me pictures of your set up? Also, what fuel pump and fuel filter are you running? Thanks.
