Just thought I would let everyone know that Ballistic Batteries are overpriced garbage, and there warranty is a joke.

Basically I just want to inform you so the same doesnt happen to you.

They want $159 for a 4S LiFePO4.
We had one cell go bad.
I wanted a replacement.
They would not replace, incorrect application (baahaaa)

So I took the stupid thing apart.
Guess what they are nothing more than A123 ANR26650M1A LiFe cells

$8 each

So lets see.... They have $32 in each battery and selling them for $159 sounds like I should get into making China race batteries.

All I wanted was a single replacement cell, and the Owner denied using A123s, and just wanted to sell me a new battery.

If you want to use their charger here is how you wire in the 4S balance charger plug. http://i1271.photobucket.com/albums/jj629/Eaglemotorsports1/Ballistic4schargerplug.png

Wow. That blows.

Welcome to the new world order.

I've been hearing bad things about reliability of the current gen Optima street car batteries too.

Thanks for taking the time to put some new useful information in your thread though, it's nice to see something constructive for a change!

It appears as though the owner was correct about not being A123 cells. They look to be knock-offs to me and not actual A123 brand cells.

The build quality also looks crappy and not really robust.
There are relabeled B-quality A123 cells out there, so watch out:

Thanks a ton for this post. We were about to buy these. I'd rather now make 4 sets of batteries in that price.
