Just a question asking for a few peoples interpretation of a rule.

"High pressure over 15psi fuel systems must utalize protected hose with either threaded fittings or modern OEM type fittings used without modifications to either the hose or fittings. A hose clamp over a removeable line of any type is not permitted on a high pressure fuel line."

I'm a bit confused by what "modern OEM type fittings" are. Until I read the last sentance of the rule, I assume they mean the barbed fittings that most cars use, with the permantnetly bend (non adjustable) hose clamps in place. ie: no worm gear clamps.

Due to our FPR (a bosch one, with barbed conenctions) not having threaded connections, as well as our fuel pump not having threaded connections, this is a bit of a problem. Do most teams simply spend more and get a pump/FPR with the treaded NPT holes, then use Aeroquip style fittings?

Walbro in-tank fuel pump assembly with built in fuel pressure regulator. Non-return system. 1/4" NPT outlet. ~5bar. I think it is used on a Buell motorcycle.

Aeroquip AN-3 braided fuel fuel line all the way.

Might be a bit late but here is some good info from the old email list.

Hi Richard, you are correct, the rule does not permit worm drive hose clamps, however on barbed fuel line fittings, the 360 degree plus clamps with a screw fitting into a captive nut is perfectly acceptable.
