Hello,
Is it a good idea to mantain the original ECU?
Its the first time that we are using a f4i, and we are in doubt about change or not the ECU.
Thanks

1) In short, NO, it's not a good idea, unless you are talking about using the stock ECU with a piggyback module to alloy you to adjust fuel to compensate for the addition of the intake restrictor.

Information about exactly this has been discussed at extreme length elsewhere, no need to start a new thread.
Which competition are you going to, and how quickly do you need it to be running? Do you have access to a dyno? What is your budget? ....are all questions you need to think about when making this choice.

My team has run the CBR F4i with a MS1-extra, I would recommend a Microsquirt though (what we're using now).
You can also use the stock ECU but only with a piggyback system like Drew said. I hear Power Commander can work well.

James,
Last competition we had a problem with the trigger wheel and the crank sensor.
Do you have to adapt a trigger wheel to use the microsquirt system? Or, is it compatible with the stock trigger wheel?
