Hi all;

We're looking to order some 12T front sprockets, 520 pitch, that fit the output shaft of a Honda CBR600F4 and F4i.

I haven't gotten an offical quote, just gauging interest, but supposing that they are around or less than $40 each, how many people would be in for the group buy?

Looking to get this done in the next few weeks- we leave on the 23rd.

USC is interested in one or two if you get a decent price.

I talked to Sprocket Specialists, and they can make 8 Sprockets for $295. There will be a 2-3 month wait, which should not be a big problem if we act now.

So with shipping, I am assuming that $40 each is our final price. I will ship a sprocket to any team for $40 total. Please confirm now, and I will place the order as soon as we get 4-5 of these spoken for.

Just to clarify, these sprockets will fit a F4 or F4i, will have 12 teeth, and will fit a 520 pitch chain.

I have received quite a few responses in regards to the F4/F4i sprockets. The difficult part is how to figure payment. I feel the best way is for your team or someone on your team to paypal me at cpmaverick@yahoo.com . The money ($40 each) will go towards the initial order, which has to be paid immediately. I will ship the sprockets when we receive them, you won't be charged any more.

If you cannot use paypal or are worried about getting ripped off, I understand, and please contact me to arrange other forms of payment.

The reason I am asking for the money up front, is because I've received more than 8 interested parties, and I am not confident in ordering and paying for all of these without a guarantee there will be a buyer later on.

I've been around Auburn and FSAE a long time, so hopefully trust is not an issue.

Please contact me directly sometime today or tommorrow, as I will probably place the sprocket order before week's end. Unless other arrangements are made, only those that prepay are guaranteed a sprocket.

Thanks everyone for thier help in getting this done

Ok, stupid question:

What is 520? I know it is a freeway in Seattle....

Is that the centerline spacing between the lobes in the chain? in mm? in in? Is that what stock Honda bikes use?

Thanks, sorry for the stupid question, but I'm not drivetrain boy.

Thanks for everyone's participation.

I have decided to delay the order placement until Monday. I already have enough paid orders to make the order, but some teams I know want the sprockets and have not paid me yet.

If you do not get payment to me by Sunday night, you will not get a Sprocket. So the ball is in your court now.

I have emailed all individuals who have already paid me so if you think you've paid and have not recieved an email please let me know.

Anyone know if the 600rr counter shaft sprocket has the same spline as the f4/f4i? Also, Charlie, do you know if sprocket specialists has any of those 12t sprockets left? Thanks.

Charlie

I don't know if they will work on a 600RR or not. Sprocket Specialists did make a few extras for stock. I don't know if they still have any ore not.

So I have check multiple sites, including the sprocket specialists site, and I have found that the 600rr and the f4/f4i have the same part number everywhere. Additionally, the people at SS told me that some one had just placed an order for the 12 tooth sprockets. If any teams are lookin to get rid of 2 of them or would like to go in on a group buy, please let me know. Thanks.

Mike, Cemment, wish you would have gotten in sooner. I placed the order about a month and a half ago and they still have not finished. SS had 3 on hand, which they sent me. However, they have yet to finish the other 3 yet, as far as i know. Gonna give them a call again tomorrow.

Hey guys, if anyone has ordered more than they need in order to get the discount please let me know. If not I would still like to order 2 so if there are enough teams that want to chip in for the other 6 needed for the special order please post here or send me an email and we can work something out.

Cheers

I would give the people at SS a call now. As I already mentioned, they had 3 left over from a previous order that they just went ahead and shipped to me. However, the other 3 that I thought I needed for the minimum, I am still waiting on because they have to make those custom now. If they are still currently processing my order, which as of yesterday they were, they may be interested in adding 2-4.

I always just call the # on the sprocket specialist website, 530-533-0802. There is a woman there who was handling our order, but I have no idea what her name is. possibly jennifer, dont quote me.

If you run into a need for re-order, Alabama is interested in a couple 12T sprockets - anyone else fancy a smaller front cog?

EDIT ***I am looking into getting another group buy. The guy from SS is supposed to get back in touch with me today to figure this thing out. It's looking like we could have them in our hands by February-ish. Stinks that they have such a long lead time, but such is racing...

If interested in getting in on a group buy, please email me. I know they charge a seperate setup fee normally for each run, so the more we order, the cheaper.***

I called Sprocket Specialists yesterday and they are checking into running an additional run for us of the 12T variety for the F4/F4i. Let me know for sure if you want to be included and you can just paypal me the money once I get 100% confirmation from Sprocket Specialists. As confirmation, the minimum run is 6 sprockets.

Email me off the board at the below address.

Guys,

I just called SS today and they said that they are making these everyday now...only 3 weeks lead time! From the way it looks, you guys already have a full order...so is anyone wanting to get up another one? Alabama DOES need 2 sprockets.

Contact me via email or just post back on here if anyone is interested.

All,
I have placed the order with Sprocket Specialists today. I ordered 12 sprockets, so it covers those who replied. They have a 3 week lead time, so we'll get them first of the year. The following teams have been included in the order: (David from 'Bama, if you want to get your two, they're included below...just email me and let me know)

Jonathan Diuguid - NC State - ediugui@ncsu.edu - 2
