looks like it is a hard thing to come by...i'd like to see a 2001+ myself. i only have that autocad drawing of it.

i may use the ProE model of the F3/F4 for some things non FSAE related.

Anyone have a good model of the F4i? I used teh one off that site last year, but there were some problems with the mounting holes I think, i'm not exactly sure the problems though because I didn't put the engine in the model or into the car.

Again, just wondering if anyone has ever verified these models.

With respect to the autocad GSXR600 model, has anyone had any problems with it? It seems to crash my 2 versions of autocad, but that could totaly be something to do with my video card that seems to be acting up.

I made a Solid Works model of our 2001 GSXR last year. Im not sure how accurate it is as I havent yet put the engine and chassis together. The measurements were pretty good though. The model has the major mounting points and location of the countershaft sprocket.

However Im not sure how to post a file on this forum as I am new to it.

Charlie, i think you can get the autocad file off the previously linked page. if you can't you can contact me on IM (AOL) at Reinkster.

i've tried converting it in ProE 2000i2 student version and ProE 2001, and i've had no luck.

can you let me know if you get it converted? thanks man,

Here is the file he is refering to. I have hosted off my engineering account. Like he said, it isnt perfect, but it does have the mount locations.

http://www.engr.ucsb.edu/~warped/junk/FSAE/engine%20assembly.SLDASM

BTW, its a Solidworks File.

EDIT: The file sharing permission isnt set right for some reason so if the link doesnt work check back later.

That's an assembly, you need to make available the part files "ENGINE MOUNTING POINTS" and "engine sprocket" if you want someone to open this file.

can solid works be opened in ProE? http://fsae.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_confused.gif

Nope, you have to save it as an IGES file (i think that's how it's spelt) and then import it, but once it's imported it's just a lump of the same size...you cannot change dimensions or anything the way you originally could.

well if it was drawn good, changing its dimmensions would not be an issue. i would just like it for modeling purposes.

if you need me to host the files for you online, i have a server. contact me on AIM - Reinkster.
