It is the end of October and I am wondering where everyone stands on their 04 cars?
We have a tigged chassis and are finalizing suspension layouts, engine is running but not with a new intake and header.

front half of carbon chassis is almost done, we need to cut oot the firewall, and cockpit. We did the lay up over summer. Rear half is half finished. Our car is pretty much just a carry over from last with a few design tweaks here and there.

Well our car is starting to take shape, the frame from the engine forward is finished. The front suspension is unhung, just waiting to mount shocks and fab uprights and the front is complete. We just want to be able to have plenty of time to test. I consider our team a first year team, the two previous cars had no real info left behind. So we basically are starting from stcratch. I think it will turn okay, i hope

We are just starting to buy stuff. Hopefully assembly will begin within a few weeks. Fortunately, we have a longer winter break than most at about 6 weeks. Planning on doing quite a bit of building in that time. Still finalizing suspension and frame plans too.

We are done, over at SUNY Buffalo... we are just testing and fixing everything we break... of course, this car wasn't prepared for competition last year after a last minute try, ( we wouldnt have passed tech http://fsae.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif ) that's why its complete now. We will have a good 4-6 months of seat time come comp, and a firm start on our 2005 car ( ie. rolling chassis, dyno setup ) . http://fsae.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

They have probably changed the rule, but I thought if your team was registered (which you must have been if you were trying at teh last minute) for the competition and failed to show up you are not allowed to compete in the next competition. Did they change this rule or was it ever even there.

Brent,
Can you find that rule that you are talking about? I have never seen it before. Does anyone else know about this rule?
We withdrew from competition near the last minute last year and I don't think that changes any eligibility for us.

If that rule were the case, then they should not be letting us teams who missed last year register this year. I know we couldn't make it, and they haven't said ixnay to us yet.

I must have been mistaken, I still think that there used to be a rule something like this, but it's not there now.
