I've seen a lot of chain tensional from FSAE.
Some car's chain tensional is installed in the front and other team's is installed in the rear.
Which is better??

Han, it doesn't matter. just install the tensioner so it stops the chain from slapping around. Make sure the chain tensioner is not pulled off by the chain operation.
Install the tensioner in the neatest way you can. This sort of detail is what the judges look at to get an understanding of the team's understanding of engineering.

Don't use horrible bits of threaded bar either. We switched to eccentric clamps and I think it's a much more elegant solution.

BTW, Pat are you going to be at FStudent next year?

Hi Ben,
At this stage it is my intention to attend FS.
I have booked the time off work, but not booked fares or anything yet, nor have I registered as a judge with IMechE.
I also intend to be at FSAE in Detroit in May.

Cool. we're running our 2003 car in Detroit and introducing the new car at FS. I'd love it if you could see both.
