Hi,
Do you know if the half shaft of a Mazda Miata mx5 96-02 will fit in a Tosen T1 or T2 differential. Or if someone have the spline caracteristic, it will be a great help.
Thank you

Why don't you use something from Taylor racing or RCV?

Because they are a lot more expensive.

Hmm...are you going to use the cv joints only from the Mazda?

If you know other cars that have the same type of joint with the right spline, I will also like to know.
For the post of xxsportscar, I also check the web site and there is not the information.
Thank to all

I don't know other about other cars but what are you going to do about your half shafts?
I think RCV's offer is quite good actually for a complete axle set with custom half shaft lengths.

Quoted from Torsen's website
If you choose to use a Type 2 then you will have to do all your own design work. Two good possible choices would be the Mazda Miata (1996 - 2002), or the Toyota RAV4/Lexus RX300 (rear only). Both of these applications are fairly compact (ring gear pitch diameter is approximately 7 inches) and can be made quite light. Also, there are two aftermarket Torsen Type 2 differentials that are fairly well suited, both sold through the Ford Racing Performance Parts catalog. These differentials are for FWD applications, one for the Ford MTX-75 transaxle (Ford PN: M-4204-F20) and the other for the Getrag 6-speed transaxle used in the SVT Focus and Mini Cooper S (M-4204-SVTF). Of the two, the SVT Focus differential is slightly more compact and lighter, however both are good options.
so basically you can get a T2 torsen out of a miata and also use the axles from said Miata.
in regards to the T1
Quoted from Torsen,
There are three options:
Use the OEM Audi output shafts, obtained from Audi or a salvage/junk yard.
Manufacture your own to the spline specification given on the M021DHU General Fact PDF file (Older Differential) or the 012000 General Fact PDF file. When using OEM shafts, the rear output shaft is recommended due to its shorter length.

Phil.
If you do choose to go with the Torsen Univ special . We already have tulip stub axles 99% finished. All you will need to do is cut the spline length to fit your diff housing.
The part number for these in 02004181.
