hey there... I just joined a group at NMMU South-Africa... actually on my way to Germany in a months time... but I need to gather some info for them about the tele system on the car... any info that might help?... such as which Transceivers to use, what Frequency range... ECU systems? Micro controller to use? any help will be helpful to me... I don't know where to start...

You might want to clarify your question - I'm really not sure what you're asking.

By tele I assume you're meaning telemetry. This is entirely dependent on the data acquisition system you're trying to use it with, or your engine management etc. I've seen a student designed system using bluetooth for basic telemetry, and there's the really easy (yet expensive option) of using a Motec ADL/EDL, buying the telemetry upgrade and using a wireless serial module such as an off the shelf Aerocomm box to transmit the serial data. There's at least one top Australian team who does this exactly, maybe more. There's another couple of methods I've seen as well, but it really depends what you're trying to transmit, what's there currently... the list goes on.

Trying to make your own DAQ system with a microcontroller is of course possible, but I'd probably advise against it given that you don't seem sure about what you need it for yet.

well I have been given a graph which shows the following equipment to be used on the car side... Aerocomm RF Transceiver, Motorola Microcontroller, ECU and then the various tele sensors such as RPM, Heat, Oil Pressure etc... the communication will be CANbus... where to start where to get these? I have no idea...
