Hi all
I would like to know the values of the rack travel (mm/1 rev of the pinion) that fsae teams generally go for.

Please don't assume that people are being LAZY and just asking for random stuffs.I just need some of the values that teams used in order to see the general trend.Though, yes I have seen the ones given in this forum.
we generally go for a ratio of degrees turn to travel, not necessarily a given rack travel. You don't want to have to drive it like a bus and turn the wheel five times around to make a turn.

In that case if there is information missing from an exisiting thread and your question fits with the thread you should continue the thread. There are far too many useless limited threads these days. You will get far better contributions if you continue existing high quality threads and maintain the quality of discussion.

1. Figure out roughly where your steering pickup can go on your front uprights.
2. Figure how much steering lock you want at the wheels (quite a bit on these cars).
3. Establish how much handwheel travel you want (say, 400 deg lock to lock)
4. Pretty much sets what rack travel you need.
Do a little work, man.
