hey ppl i need some help from you guys im not understanding this rule about the fuel tank:
B9.6.6 A permanent, non-moveable fuel level line must be located between 12.7 mm and 25.4 mm (0.5 inch
and 1 inch) below the top of the sight tube. This line will be used as the fill line for the Tilt Test (Rule
B.9.9), and before and after the Endurance Test to measure the amount of fuel used during the
Endurance Event.
any help will be much appreciated

The FSAE rule committee is trying to say that a permanent, non-moveable fuel level line must be located between 12.7 mm and 25.4 mm (0.5 inch
and 1 inch) below the top of the sight tube.

yes,but i dont undestand what it refers to the top of the sight tube, wouldnt be the top of the tank?

Seriously...did you read the rules cover to cover?
Look at figure 14.

See the small 6mm min id tube on the outside of the filler neck. That's the sight tube it's supposed to be see through so you can determine the fuel level.

If you're designing for next year, there are probably going to be some significant changes to the fuel filler neck rules as well, so just be aware of that in your design.
