I've already searched the forums and wasn't able to find the information.
Here is my concern. We are taking a second year car to VIR (because of financial reasons) The rules give use the cross section of template, but not the depth. Now i know that the preferred depth is whatever the length is from the 4 inch mark to the front roll hoop, but we have our steering rack on the bottom of the cockpit. This means the template needs to "slide" up and over the rack (about 2 inches).
Right above the rack and a little rearward are the dampers. I haven't had a chance to measure everything exactly but there might be about a half inch between the front of the dampers and the rear of the rack. This could be just enough room to have the template move vertically and still get by.
My question: What thickness material will the judges be using for the templates? <.5 inch we might pass >.5 we will for sure have problems.
Thanks
