We've had this engine since around 4 years and since we've shifted to the CBR600, its hasn been cranked since then. We thought of re-assembling our first car and we bought a stock CDI for the engine. The old wiring harness was a mess and couldn be used. I've modified the wiring map to bypass the various switches.

I tried dry cranking the engine to check for the sparking, but there wasn't any. I've put in 4 days in re-checking the wiring and haven found any fault. I reckon that its somethin to do with the map, but i can't find any way. Need help.

PS: i've attached both, the stock wiring and the reduced version of what i made.

I checked rechecked the wiring map and triple checked the harness. guess theres a problem with either the CDI or the pick up coil..

I know many teams (including ours) use up a number of spark plugs in testing/tuning/running. Did you try simply swapping in new plugs rather than a new CDI box or coil?

i did check whether i was getting a signal at the output of the CDI before it went into the ignition coils.. There wasn't any. I tested the pick-up coil for any faults and was getting a signal there...
