Hello Teams,
I've searched for more information on the new "Real Case" Scenario in the Mfg Event, but can't find any. This is on page 66 of the 2009 Rules. It is worth 20 points and I think replaces the "8" Topics team previously had to explain manufacturing processes.
Has anyone else heard what this scenario will be? If not, does anyone know when they will be "distributed prior to the competition?"
Thanks, Aaron

If I'm not mistaken, FS Germany has had the real case manufacturing scenario for a year or 2 now, so I'd imagine attendants of that event might be able to shed some light on what to expect?

This was the 2008 real case at FSG:
"At the beginning of the event discussion you will have a 10 minutes presentation.
What are the main cost experiences you have made during your present’s car design and
manufacturing? (3 examples)
If you will have the chance to build the same car again what will you do different? And Why?
Please choose 3 to 5 parts and calculate them.
Where do you see other cost optimizations?
This presentation should fulfill following requirements:
• Not longer than 10 min
• Not more than 2 Flipchart pages (prepared or unprepared, maximum size: 98 cm x
67,5 cm)
• No handouts and no use of electronic devices
Please note that we won’t score your presentation skills."
The 2007 real case was similar, only that you specifically had to make suggestions on how to reduce the cost of your brake system.
Hope that helps..

Thank you for the help Dennis.
Can anyone confirm that the U.S. Event will be similar to this??
Much Appreciated.
